The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will return to AMC and AMC+ in the fall of 2025 for its third season. While The Walking Dead: Dead City is scheduled to release its season 2 finale on Jun 22, is there news of a possible third season?
The eighth and final episode of Dead City season 2, "If History Were a Conflagration," will bring the second season to a conclusion. Many stories have come to an end this season, but there is still much that could be fleshed out in a additional season. Plus, we've yet to see how this season will end, there are many key players still alive, including one that was thought to have died a firey death. The battle for Manhattan is still on going and as erratic as the new "bad guys" are, it is difficult to know what will happen next.
There is certainly more story to tell as far as Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Hershel (Logan Kim), Ginny (Mahina Napoleon) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) are concerned. Maggie is dealing with her son's betrayal, Hershel is brain washed, Ginny is on death's door, and Negan recently forced his family from him, yet again.
Is there a third season of The Walking Dead: Dead City?
AMC has yet to announce an additional season of the Dead City spinoff. This isn't to say things are in the works, as TWD CCO Scott M. Gimple has stated many times, that plans to expand the universe are ongoing. This could be additional seasons of the current series or something entirely new.
If the show is renewed, you can expect to see the return of at least Maggie, Negan, and Hershel. There are many others who could also appear, and fans are always holding out hope to see familiar faces from the original series.
