AMC will premiere the third season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon in the fall of 2025. Months ahead of this debut, rumors have spread that work on the fourth season has begun. Fans of Daryl and Carol can rejoice to know that the story doesn't end in the upcoming season.
In June 2024, Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, mentioned season 4 during an interview with Radio Times. He quickly added that he hopes he was allowed to reveal that information. He did so as he was discussing the third season's filming in Spain, which was public information.
In November 2024, showrunner David Zabel talked with ScreenRant about the possibility of a fourth season.
"I have a little bit. Who knows if it will happen. If we get a Season 4, it will be an outgrowth and a continuation of the story we’re telling in Season 3. That’s the pattern I’ve fallen into now. I think in 12-episode segments in my mind, which is two seasons of the show. There are six episodes in a season, so far. The first 12 were all of a piece, and if there’s a next 12, they will similarly be of a piece. If you ask me about Season 5, all bets are off. I have no idea about that."David Zabel

The buzz surrounding possible pre-production for Daryl Dixon season 4 came when the series was included in the recent Production Weekly listing. AMC has yet to make an official announcement, which could be announced closer to or after the premiere of season 3.
The first season of the spinoff focused on Daryl and his journey to France. The second highlighted Carol's search for her best friend, which leads her to France. Season 2 ended with the duo journeying to England via the Chunnel and the upcoming season's story will eventually find them in Spain.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3
During the opener of season 2 of The Walking Dead: Dead City, viewers were treated to a promo teaser for Daryl Dixon season 3. The short clip features Daryl as narrator and features Carol and Stephan Merchant's character, one they will encounter during the first episode, who is described as "a very interesting character."

Reedus and McBride will return for the six-part third season of Daryl Dixon, but it is unclear if any of their newly found friends in France will join them. This season will feature many new cast members, including Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, and Alexandra Masangkay as series regulars. Details regarding the new characters have yet to be revealed.
AMC's official description of season 3: Season three tracks Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) as they continue their journey towards home and the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands[3] with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.[
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon returns to AMC and AMC+ in fall 2025.
