We're still a few months away from The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon returning for its fourth and final season on AMC, but we already know when Norman Reedus' next big project will be released following the end of his run in the world of The Walking Dead.
Reedus will star in Pendulum, a new horror movie from Vertical. The film was just slated to premiere in theaters on Jan. 7, 2027, according to a report from Deadline.
In the horror movie, Reedus will star alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Phoebe Dynevor, and Jacki Weaver. According to the report, Mark Heyman is making his diectorial debut in the film, which is produced by Darren Aronofsky, Dave Caplan, and Jacob Jaffke.
In Pendulum, "married couple Patrick (Gordon-Levitt) and Abigail (Dynevor) journey to a new-age retreat in New Mexico, drawn by the possibility of healing after a traumatic event. Patrick is willing to do anything to help his wife, but becomes distrustful of the retreat’s enigmatic leader (Weaver) even as Abigail falls under her spell. As paranoia builds, the couple must determine if the group’s spiritual practices offer genuine healing – or mask a terrifying truth that threatens to consume them both," according to Deadline.
Reedus is the only member of the main four cast members whose role was not revealed in the synopsis. There could be a lot of reasons why that's the case, but I know Walking Dead and Daryl Dixon fans will not be happy that we don't know who or what Reedus will be playing in the new horror movie.
Vertical dropped the first look image along with the release date announcement, but unfortunately, Reedus was not in the first batch of images, but I'm sure we'll see him in the trailer and other images and promotional materials as we get closer to release.
It's obviously a big bummer that we have to wait so long to watch Pendulum, but I have a feeling it's going to be worth the wait.
It should, in theory, arrive rather quickly after Daryl Dixon comes to an end with its fourth season on AMC. We're expecting Daryl Dixon season 4 will premiere some time in September, just like the first three seasons. It should also wrap in October or November, leaving only a two-month gap between the end of Daryl Dixon and the premiere of Pendulum.
Production on Daryl Dixon's final season wrapped recently, and while his co-star Melissa McBride has opened up about needing a break after nearly two decades as part of the Walking Dead universe, Reedus hasn't spoken about what his next steps will be.
It's going to be really interesting to see Reedus in other roles after he exits The Walking Dead franchise. He's been a part of that world for almost 20 years and hasn't had much time for other projects. I know I'm not alone in hoping he gets some great roles in new movies and shows!
Stay tuned for more news about Daryl Dixon season 4 and the Pendulum!
