Whenever a fan-favorite character dies on screen, fans mourn the loss deeply. The Walking Dead: Dead City recently concluded its second season, and while many new characters were introduced at the start, many didn't make it to the end. Did Maggie or Negan die? Unlikely, but there were significant losses, including one that broke Negan's heart.

The second season of Dead City featured eight episodes, two more than its debut season. Several characters returned from the first season, including Hershel (Logan Kim), Ginny (Mahina Napoleon), the Dama (Lisa Emery), the Croat (Željko Ivanek), Perlie Armstrong (Gaius Charles), Governor Charlie Byrd (Jasmine Walker), and more.

Kim Coates was the first new cast member announced; he portrayed Bruegel, leader of the Silk Stockings gang. Several newcomers were first introduced during SDCC 2025; these actors include Dascha Polanco as Lucia Narvaez, Keir Gilchrist as Benjamin Pierce, Pooya Mohseni as Roksana, and Jake Weary as Christo. Also joining the cast this season were Anthony Molinari as Major General Houseman and Aril Loeb as Jason Ornell.

Dead City season 2 deaths

Jason Ornell was the first death for season 2 of Dead City, who was dragged through the streets of the Bricks and then hanged by Byrd and Houseman. These two would meet their ends on board the Liberty Queen, the boat attacked by the Burazi's walker bombs.

One tragic death was that of Victor (Logan Schmucker), the Burazi violinist who befriended Negan. He was killed by the Dama to punish Negan for his actions. Christo and his gang were gassed with methane by the Croat and then put to death by the Burazi.

Roksana was the leader of the Foragers who lived deep in Central Park. She was killed by Narvaez, then reanimated, and in an ironic twist, would later devour her killer. The Dama's Rat met its end as Negan stomped the poor creature to death.

In the penultimate episode, the Dama would make a surprise return after viewers believed she was burnt alive in the previous episode. Walking Dead creators love a good fake out death.

Bruegel met a horrific end when Negan pumped him full of the methane he so greatly coveted and set it on fire, burning him from the inside out. The leather-clad leader then proceeded to smash his head in with Lucille.

The final notable death and the most heartbreaking of the season was that of Ginny. The young girl was bitten, and nothing could save her. This was a crushing blow to Negan, who learns of the girl's reanimation after being stabbed in the back, literally, by Maggie. Viewers watched as Negan suffered the loss that mirrored the death of his wife, Lucille.
