Alicia Witt stars with Nicolas Cage & Maika Monroe in new horror Longlegs
By Renee Hansen
Actress and singer/songwriter Alicia Witt will star alongside Nicolas Cage, Maika Monroe, and Blair Underwood in the latest horror offering from Osgood Perkins titled Longlegs.
The film, written and directed by Perkins, son of the late Anthony Perkins, will be released by Neon on July 12, 2024. The story follows a new FBI agent, Lee Harker (Monroe), who has been assigned to a case of a serial killer known as Longlegs (Cage), who has supernatural ties. Her investigation uncovers evidence of occult practices in conjunction with the murders in this thrilling cat-and-mouse story.
The latest look is an eerily chilling look at one of the most highly anticipated horror films of the year. The trailer shows both sides of the story in clips spliced together. The first segment focuses on Harker and her investigation with the words, “So close the crimson and clover, all gone now to the edge. Where the black begins, the long forked tongue hisses.” Next, the trailer cuts to Cage as the psychopathic Longlegs as the words “Daughter of the seventh she. Listen loud; the serpents see the darkness slithering. Tell me, what good is that body if not for hiding red shiny parts.” The letters begin to fall away as the only remaining letters spell out, "Death is first."
Longlegs synopsis:
"FBI Agent Lee Harker (Maika Monroe) is a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Nic Cage). As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family."
