Recently, AMC revealed and exclusive sneak peek of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon's second season. The upcoming season is subtitled The Book of Carol as fan-favorite Carol Peletier, portrayed by Melissa McBride, returns to The Walking Dead universe in this series.

At the end of The Walking Dead series the story experienced a one year time jump in which the Commonwealth had been over thrown and Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and Mercer (Michael James Shaw) became the leaders of the community. Carol took over as Deputy Govenor, a postion previously held by the corrupt Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton).

During the first season of the Daryl Dixon series, Daryl (Norman Reedus) is able to make a radio call to Carol at the Commonwealth before being forced onto a ship bound for France. The conversation reveals Daryl's location as Maine, and he promises to return within a week. Carol informs Daryl that someone or something has returned, and then the connection is lost.

The new sneak peek shows Daryl and some new faces setting a trap for Genet (Anne Charrier), leader of Power of the Living, and her group, which fails. Viewers also see Carol in Maine trying to locate her best friend. The scenes mirror one another, which is interesting and makes one wonder if this is how the series will begin, showing Daryl in France and Carol in the US on parallel journeys as they make their way back to one another.

AMC synopsis for The Book of Carol:
