Colman Domingo shares first-look photos of his new series, The Madness

Emmy-winning actor Colman Domingo has kept himself quite busy since saying goodbye to Victor Strand, a character he portrayed in Fear the Walking Dead since 2015. His name has appeared in many extraordinary titles, including Rustin, The Color Purple, and his recent sensation, Sing Sing. Now Domingo is switching gears as he will star in the Netflix original The Madness.
The conspiracy thriller was created for Netflix by co-showrunner Stephen Belber (O.G., The Laramie Project). VJ Boyd (Justified, S.W.A.T.) joins as co-showrunner and executive producer with Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Kaitlin Dahill. The eight-part limited series from Chernin Entertainment, in its first-look deal for the streamer, is directed by Clément Virgo (Greenleaf).
Domingo is joined by a talented cast that consists of Stephanie Blake (When They See Us, Orange Is the New Black), Gabrielle Graham (Twenties, 21 Thunder), John Ortiz (Silver Linings Playbook), Tamsin Topolski (The Diplomat), and Thaddeus J. Mixon.
The Madness follows the story of media pundit Muncie Daniels (Domingo), who, after discovering a murder deep in the woods of the Poconos mountains, is forced to fight for his life and his innocence. For his survival, he must set aside his issues with his estranged family and reconnect with his lost ideals.
Domingo told Tudum that he was excited about this thriller and portraying a unique protagonist. He shared the first-look images of the series via social media.
The Madness will premiere all eight episodes on Netflix on November 28.
Colman Domingo - upcoming roles
Domingo most recently appeared in Drive-Away Dolls, Ethan Coen's quirky road trip comedy streaming on Prime Video. He also starred in the musical adaptation of The Color Purple. His voice talents were featured in several titles, including the animated Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken and the most recent installment in the Transformers universe, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, as the voice of Unicron.
Next, he will star in two music themed movies, he will portray Joe Jackson, father of Michael in the biopic aptly titled, Michael, that is expected to release in April 2025. He will also portray Nat King Cole in a movie of which he co-wrote the script and voice Norman Osborn in the upcoming animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
