AMC has firmly established The Walking Dead universe as a staple within the apocolyptic genre of series. The main series began airing in 2010, and since that time, it has spawned six spinoffs, three of which directly tie to The Walking Dead. What order should the newest spinoffs be viewed in?

Fear the Walking Dead, World Beyond, and Tales of the Walking Dead are the first three spinoffs, which, while set in the same world, are mostly independent of the flagship series. Fear TWD features some crossover characters in season 4, but otherwise, this story is separate. World Beyond is a coming-of-age story that reveals much more about the CRM (Civic Republic Military). Tales of TWD is a six-part anthology series that introduces new characters except for one episode, which features a shocking backstory to Alpha (Samantha Morton), who was the leader of the Whisperers in the main series. The first three spinoffs could be viewed without ever seeing an episode of the main series.

The three newest spinoffs, which are sequels to the main series, Dead City, Daryl Dixon, and The Ones Who Live, can be viewed in any order as they don't directly tie to one another. Each features characters introduced in the main series, but these stories can be watched without knowing every detail of the original.

The Daryl Dixon series is set soon after the one-year time jump experienced in the series finale of the main series. This series takes place in France and chronicles Daryl's (Norman Reedus) journey to France, as well as his experiences while trying to find a way to return home. He befriends a group, the Union of Hope, whom he aids in transporting a young boy who is believed to be the one who will save mankind. The second season will premiere in the summer of 2024 and is subtitled The Book of Carol, as Melissa McBride returns to TWDU as Carol Peletier.
