Skybound and Image Comics reveal connecting covers for Walking Dead deluxe comic
By Renee Hansen
Skybound and Image Comics announce a great new set of connecting cover art for The Walking Dead Deluxe.
Created by father and son artists Sean Phillips (Criminal, House of the Unholy) and Jacob Phillips (Criminal, Newburn), the art creatively connects the images that will appear as variants to The Walking Dead Deluxe #91-96. The new work features art by Sean which are then colorized by Jacob and covers “A Larger World” arc of the landmark comic series, showcasing the dangers the group faces in their excursions outside Alexandria.
Each issue will be presented, for the first time, in full-color format from writer/creator Robert Kirkman, with art by Charlie Adlard and colors by Dave McCaig. The deluxe issues also contain pinups and exclusive information via the "Cutting Room Floor" commentary by Kirkman, which always reveals interesting new information from the comic series.
The Walking Dead Deluxe #91 will be the first release, available for the SRP of $3.99 at comic shops and digitally on Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
