Reviews are pouring in for the latest Walking Dead spinoff featuring Rick and Michonne's return, and most appear to be positive. The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live continues the trend of spinoffs featuring continued stories of characters originally introduced in The Walking Dead. The Ones Who Live has been highly anticipated, and fans are eager to learn what has transpired since Rick and Michonne departed the main series in seasons 9 and 10, respectively.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is a story viewers have longed for, and they will be pleasantly surprised with the result as it is entirely worth the wait. This series replaced the originally announced trilogy of movies and allows the stories of Rick and Michonne to be told in a manner expected from TWDU with lots of action, gore, and, as promised, the epic love story of these two characters.

The Ones Who Live features Rick and Michonne and chronicles their plight to reunite with one another. It also gives a more in-depth look into the Civic Republic Military (CRM), featured in the main series, Fear the Walking Dead and World Beyond. This series finally reveals the organization's enormity and substantial threat to those who oppose it.

This story begins as the flagship series does, highlighting Rick Grimes. This time, viewers are given a look back at what he has endured via flashbacks and voiceover while also following him during his day-to-day tasks. The CRM is an organization that isn't easy to break free of, and the series shows that Rick's end game of escaping is always at the forefront of his mind.

Both Rick and Michonne have been affected by all they have endured during the years since they have been apart. Michonne battles so much while trying to locate her true love. She experiences heartbreak, loss, and so much more on her journey to reunite with Rick. Along the way, she encounters people who become invaluable to her.

There are many new characters introduced who add so much to the story. Terry O'Quinn, as Major General Beale, and Craig Tate, as Colonel Donald Okafor, learn that Rick Grimes could be a valuable asset to the CRM and, despite him being a liability, see beyond the surface of this man and recognize his potential. Pearl Thorne, played by Lesley-Ann Bradt is an interesting character, and a friend to Rick, that hopefully plays a larger role as the series progresses.

Michonne finds a companion in Nat, played by Mattew Jeffers; he is the one who gives her hope when he reads the inscription "believe a little bit longer." He also aids her, designing weapons and her armor.

Seeing Rick and Michonne on the screen again is a magical experience. While Dead City and Daryl Dixon have done an outstanding job expanding the universe, Rick's presence as the OG of the franchise reminds viewers how vital his inclusion in the stories is. And who is Rick without Michonne? They are a dynamic duo whose epic love story, based on mutual respect and trust, inspires others.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live does have one down fall...the story needs more episodes, which is often the case with seires within TWDU. But overall, fans will be pleased with the continuation of Rick and Michonne's story.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live premieres on AMC and AMC+ on Sunday, February 25.
