Tom Payne and wife Jennifer Åkerman attend Horizon: An American Saga premiere

Actor Tom Payne and his wife Jennifer Åkerman, who recently announced they are proud parents of twins, stepped out for the star-studded Horizon: American Saga - Chapter 1 premiere in Los Angeles.

The first film in the Western saga, written, directed, produced, and stars Kevin Costner, premieres in theaters on June 28. Costner co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Baird from a story by Costner, Baird, and Mark Kasdan.

Horizon: An American Saga is a four-part story that begins with Chapter 1, released in June, and continues with Chapter 2, scheduled for release in August 2024. Principal photography for Chapter 3 began in May 2024 and Chapter 4 is un development.

The saga has an all-star line-up which includes Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Jena Malone, Abbey Lee, Danny Huston, Luke Wilson, Isabelle Fuhrman, Jeff Fahey, Will Patton, Tatanka Means, Owen Crow Shoe, Ella Hunt, Jamie Campbell Bower, and Thomas Haden Church. Walking Dead's Michael Rooker also stars as Sgt. Major Riordan.

Horizon, Costner's first Civil War-era project since 1990's Dances with Wolves. Chapter 1 is set between 1861 and 1865 during the American Civil War. Chapter 2 explores the westward expansion of the American West. The story is told through the eyes of the settlers and indigenous people who live on the land, highlighting their determination: one group settling the land and the other fighting to keep it.

Payne and Åkerman announced the premiere of their podcast, California Dreamin', with the arrival of the twins. The proud parents also have a son, Harrison. The fact that they were having twins was a complete shock to the couple. Payne told People, "We are overjoyed to share the news that on April 1st, 2024, we welcomed twins into our family! An entirely unexpected and wonderful surprise. Harrison is over the moon to have not one but two new siblings."

The podcast is described as a glimpse into the lives of Payne and Åkerman as they navigate the joys and challenges of parenthood, careers, and the arrival of their baby twins in the heart of LA.

Åkerman is a model and singer-songwriter, and Payne is an actor well known for his roles in The Walking Dead, Prodigal Son, Waterloo Road, and Imaginary.
