Walking Dead actors Steven Ogg, who portrayed the Savior named Simon, and Josh Hamilton, who played Dep. Governor of the Commonwealth, Lance Hornsby, will star with Michael Madsen in a comedy, Concessions.

Written and directed by Mas Bouzidi, Concessions began as a concept short for a feature film that wrapped filming in November 2023. Bouzidi has written four feature films and directed numerous short films on Kodak and FilmShortage. Malcolm Brainerd and Ram Khagram produced the movie, with Harrison Allen as co-producer, Michael Beckley as executive producer, and Sophia Winkler as line producer.

The story follows the stories of several characters who are employed at the Royal Alamo Cinema on its final night before it closes forever. Hunter, a concessions stand employee, begins questioning his future during his final shift at the theater. The appearance of an old high school friend, who has made his life successful, reinforces his concern for his future. Lorenzo, Hunter's best friend, has a full-ride football scholarship in Tampa, but he isn't certain that this is the dream everyone says it is. Luke, owner of the theater, which he inherited from his father, has given his whole life to keeping the business going. He is not ready to let go of the theater, but this may be his opportunity to step out of his father's shadow.

Rob Riordan (The Surprise Visit) portrays Hunter, with Jonathan Price (Sleep Half of It) as Lorenzo. Ogg plays theater owner Luke, and Hamilton's role is a mystery. Michael Madsen plays Rex Fuel, a sleazy theater patron and wannabe cowboy. Lana Rockwell (Sweet Thing) portrays Deana, the box office attendee who is the eyes and ears of the theater and is bound for art school in Manhattan. Additional cast includes Ivory Aquino (When They See Us), Jared Gilman (Moonrise Kingdom), and Nate Odenkirk (Summer in Argyle).

Concessions made its rounds at film festivals and will next prioritize its theatrical review, followed by its release on streaming or PVOD platforms. You can read all the details via the movie's WeFunder site.

Concessions synopsis:

Spanning the gaps between generations of movie-lovers, the Royal Alamo Cinema imagines an idealized theater experience - how fragile it is, and how magical it has been for so many. Throughout the film, we cross paths with the various employees, customers, outcasts, and oddballs that make up this community, all intertwining in stories of redemption, rejection, fate, and connection as Hunter comes to terms with the inevitability of losing the place he ultimately loves.
