By Renee Hansen
Walking Dead and Dead City actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been slated to host Destination X, a new travel adventure reality series coming to NBC. Morgan has stated he is captivated by the series's premise for its blend of travel, mystery, and gaming.
"I can’t wait to embark on this wild guessing game across the globe as Master of Ceremony, navigating players through challenges that test their mental and physical abilities."

The series will be Morgan's second unscripted series after AMC’s Friday Night in With the Morgans, which he hosted with his wife, Hilarie Burton Morgan, during the pandemic.
NBC recently announced Morgan's inclusion in the new series, which he will also executive produce. Corie Hensen, Executive Vice President of Unscripted Content, Competition, and Game Shows for NBCUniversal Entertainment, stated that “Jeffrey Dean Morgan embodies the mischievous international man of mystery, making him the perfect host and puppet master for this new travel adventure series."
Destination X is the brainchild of Twofour, a British production company. The series blends action, adventure, and competition in a truly unique reality series.
NBCUniversal description of the series:
"Viewers will follow contestants as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime but have no idea of their location. In order to win, they must figure out their mystery locations. Once they're on the blacked-out Destination X bus, the journey transforms into a real-life game board, with challenges designed to offer clever clues as to their location, along with a few misdirects to keep them guessing. At the end of each episode, the contestant who places an X on a map furthest from the actual location packs their bags."
No exact date has been announced for Destination X, but the series is expected to release on NBC in 2025.
Morgan recently appeared in the fourth season of Prime Video's The Boys, that was developed by Supernatural creator Erik Kripke. He portrayed Joe Kessler, a CIA case officer who has ties to Karl Urban's Butcher.
Next, Morgan will reprise his role as Negan Smith in The Walking Dead spinoff, Dead City. Filming for the second season of the series has wrapped and although an exactly date has yet to be announced, fans can expect the series to return to AMC and AMC+ in 2025.
In May 2024, Highland Film Group announced that Morgan's 2020 film, The Postcard Killings, would be getting a sequel titled The Postcard Killer. Morgan and co-star Famke Janssen will reprise their roles from the first film.
