Walking Dead spinoffs, Norman Reedus and Jeffrey Dean Morgan Critics Choice noms
Dead City and Daryl Dixon have been nominated for Critics Choice Super Awards.

Nominees for The Critics Choice Association's (CCA) 4th Annual Critics Choice Super Awards have been announced, which includes four nominations for The Walking Dead universe. Mission Impossible - Dead Reckoning has received the most nominations in the film category, with The Last of Us leading for TV. These awards recognize the most popular fan-obsessed genres across both television and movies, including Superhero, with winners announced on April 4.

Both series which received nominations are spinoffs of The Walking Dead which ended its 12-year run in 2022. Dead City and Daryl Dixon mark the fourth and fifth spinoffs, respectively, and are unique because those titles are two of three series in TWDU, which continue the stories of characters originally introduced in the main series.
The Walking Dead: Dead City
The first six-part season of Dead City reintroduced long-time enemies, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Morgan), several years after the one-year time jump ending of the main series. Maggie must call on Negan to assist her in rescuing her son Hershel (Logan Kim), who was abducted by one of Negan's former Saviors. The series is full of action, introduces many new and exciting characters, and has been renewed for a second season, which will begin filming in Boston in April.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon
Daryl Dixon premiered in 2023 with its first season, consisting of six episodes. This series focuses on the titular character, portrayed by Reedus, as he is forced to travel to France, where he encounters many new characters who are in dire need of his help. He puts aside his primary goal of returning home to help a resistance group, The Union of Hope, as they come against the powerful Power of the Living. Daryl Dixon has been renewed for a second season that will premiere in the summer of 2024, and it has been confirmed that the series will be renewed for a third.
