Watch Walking Dead's Kerry Codon in the Liam Neeson led In the Land of Saints and Sinners
By Renee Hansen
BAFTA-winning actress Kerry Condon only briefly appeared in season 4 of The Walking Dead, but fans remember her character well. She portrayed Clara, a woman who, at first glance, viewers thought walkers could talk. She begs Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) for help and then deceives him and tries to feed him to her husband's reanimated head. She would appear as a walker in three additional episodes. Now, Condon, fresh off her role in Night Swim, stars in the new action thriller In the Land of Saints and Sinners.
On March 29, In the Land of Saints and Sinners was released in theaters. The movie premiered at the 80th Venice International Film Festival in September 2023. Directed by Robert Lorenz, who has been nominated for the Best Picture Oscar three times for Mystic River (2003), Letters from Iwo Jima (2006), and American Sniper (2014), the film was written by Mark Michael McNally and Terry Loane.
Liam Neeson leads the cast in his second movie with Lorenz afterThe Marksman (2021), as Finbar Murphey, a haunted ex-assassin. Trying to live a peaceful life, he runs his own pub in a coastal Irish town where he enjoys the quiet. But the past always has a way of coming back, which is the case for Finbar. He will risk exposing his past if he defends his friends and neighbors.
Filmed in Ireland, in County Donegal and Dublin, the scenery is breathtaking. Condon plays a character named Doireann McCann, and additional cast members include Jack Gleeson , Colm Meaney , Ciarán Hinds, and Sarah Greene.
Rotten Tomatoes gives In the Land of Saints and Sinners an 82% with mostly positive reviews. The site states it is well-written and "one of the better action thrillers Liam Neeson's made in recent years."
