If you have ever wanted to or just love The Walking Dead universe, there is a wealth of content for fans to enjoy. There were 177 episodes of the Mothership series released in the eleven-season run. These filled up twelve years for fans and captured the hearts of millions around the globe.
That isn’t including any of the spin-off series that fans can enjoy. From more recent series such as Daryl Dixon, Dead City, and Tales of The Walking Dead, there has been a wealth of stories shared with fans around our favorite characters. The second longest-running series in the TWDU is, of course, Fear The Walking Dead, which had a total run of 113 episodes over eight seasons and eight years.
There is an array of ways fans can stream their favorite series; they usually always come with a price tag. But for fans in the UK, this has changed, and you can catch up on The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead for free all day, every day.
Fans in the UK can now stream TWD for free
It is an exciting time for TWDU fans in the UK, as we now have access to every episode of TWD and FTWD totally free. In a recent announcement, ITVX has created a dedicated TWD channel that plays episode after episode, giving people easier access to relive the post-apocalyptic series. This can be accessed by signing up for an ITVX account, then heading to their live TV page.
Although you can’t choose which episode you want to watch and will have to rely on catching the episode you want when it streams, it is a fantastic idea for people to dip their toes into the universe and have a lucky-dip-style choice of episode when hitting play on the channel. It is also worth noting that the channel is ad-free. The channel joins a host of other British staples such as The Chase, Every Saturday Night, and Nature, to name a few. It is unknown if we will see any more of TWDU on there, but it is definitely possible in the future.
There has been a wild history of how to access TWD in the UK over the years. Starting on Fox before heading to Star on Disney Plus after Fox stopped broadcasting. The mothership series was available here, while fans had to pay to watch Fear the Walking Dead (or TWD) on Amazon Prime. We then had yet another move when The Universe went to Sky and NOW TV after an exclusive deal between Sky and AMC. This was the first time UK fans had the chance to watch the other various spin-off series and have the entire universe in one place. Phew!
Then we land here, where there are other options for fans with this new dedicated channel. I am sure there will still be others in the future, but for now, TWD is more accessible than ever. If anything, this is just a testament to how legendary this show is. Here is to the future of The Walking Dead Universe.
