Who would've thought that 15 years later, The Walking Dead franchise would still be trekking along? The original series might have ended a few years back, but the universe lives on through its various spinoffs.
While there are six spinoffs in total, unfortunately, only two are still ongoing. They are The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and The Walking Dead: Dead City. However, Daryl Dixon is about to end its run next year, leaving only Dead City to carry the entire weight of the franchise’s legacy.
But it's not all bad. There's a huge rumor going around that AMC is planning a Walking Dead crossover spinoff series that would unite the different Walking Dead spinoffs. Industry insider Daniel Richtman was the first to report on this. This could mean fans finally get to see their favorite characters from across the franchise reunite. That's potentially Rick and Michonne from The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, Maggie and Negan from Dead City, and Daryl and Carol from Daryl Dixon.
While AMC has not confirmed or denied the rumor, the very possibility of this crossover happening has fans buzzing with excitement and us thinking about how it would turn out. But there's one looming concern that we have. If this Walking Dead crossover spinoff really were to happen, there's one thing the show shouldn't do. If it does, it could ruin it all.
The Walking Dead crossover spinoff must not kill off any major characters

This should be a given, but The Walking Dead has a long history of shocking fans with sudden, brutal character deaths. While those twists worked in the original series, a crossover is meant to be a celebration of the franchise. At least that's how we're viewing it.
This would be the chance to bring back together the heroes, antiheroes, and fan favorites we’ve followed for over a decade. All the characters mentioned earlier have been off doing their own things in their respective spinoffs, but a crossover could finally bring them back into the same world. There was a time when these characters fought side by side, relying on each other to survive in a world consumed by chaos and the undead.
We could see this happen again in the rumored crossover spinoff, which is great. But for this crossover to truly succeed, it must handle these characters with care. Killing off major characters would ruin the entire point of the crossover. I mean, what would really be the point anyway? Shock value? That’s not why fans would be tuning in. The excitement surrounding a crossover lies in seeing these beloved characters together again, witnessing their relationships and growth unfold after time apart.
Leave the deaths to those minor characters who no one really cares about, and everything will be just fine. That sounds bad, but you know what I mean! Overall, a Walking Dead crossover spinoff could be one of the most exciting moments in the franchise’s history if handled right. But if it leans too heavily into shock value and starts killing off major characters, it could quickly ruin the entire experience.
