It's been about eight months since Netflix added a new season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, but that's all about to change next month.
Netflix revealed The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 will be released on Sunday, July 19.
This is obviously great news ahead of the Daryl Dixon season 4 release. Fans will have plenty of time to catch up before the final season of Daryl Dixon premieres on AMC later this year.
Daryl Dixon season 3 premiered on AMC and AMC+ on Sept. 7, 2025, and it was another massive hit for AMC and The Walking Dead franchise. The season follows Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) on their adventures through Spain after their journey back to the states doesn't pan out exactly as they hoped.
There are only seven episodes in Daryl Dixon season 3, which is the same as the first two seasons, but it feels shorter than that. I'm in the middle of another Walking Dead rewatch, and it's wild just how many episodes are in those big seasons of The Walking Dead vs. how many episodes are in the spinoffs. It's a different type of storytelling, that's for sure.
The first two seasons of Daryl Dixon are currently available to stream on Netflix, along with all 11 seasons of The Walking Dead, eight seasons of Fear the Walking Dead, and two seasons of Dead City.
Daryl Dixon season 4 premieres later this year
This is an exciting time to be a fan of The Walking Dead. Dead City season 3 premieres on Sunday, July 26. It will run for eight weeks on AMC, but it likely won't hit Netflix until next year.
Daryl Dixon season 4, which, as mentioned, is the final season of the series, will likely premiere on AMC and AMC+ somewhere around the end of Dead City season 3. We don't know exactly what date the new season will premiere, but it will likely premiere sometime in late September or early October.
Every season of Daryl Dixon so far has premiered sometime in September, so you would think the fourth and final season would arrive then, too. With the late July date for Dead City season 3, that season won't wrap until the last week-ish of September. So, looking at the calendar, there's really only a gap of one weekend at the end of September that's open for Daryl Dixon season 4.
There's a chance that AMC could stack the Dead City season 3 finale with the Daryl Dixon season 4 premiere. That would be super fun, but so far, it's unclear if that's a real possibility.
It's much more likely that Daryl Dixon season 4 will arrive in early October 2026. That's our official prediction heading into the summer, but that could change if we find out more information.
