It goes without saying that Walking Dead fans are among the most committed in pop-culture. If you've stuck with a TV show for 11 seasons throughout all of its highs and lows and even stuck around for a multitude of spinoffs, you are undoubtedly an elite fan. And the TWD Family are indeed among the most elite when it comes to commitment.

That includes keeping up with the cast whenever they move onto new projects. It also might involve simply recognizing a star from The Walking Dead or its offshoots in another project. If you are a TWD fan and went out to the movies recently and saw Tuner, then you very likely became that Leonardo DiCaprio pointing meme when you saw a familiar face appear on the big screen.

Tovah Feldshuh appears in significant supporting role in Tuner

Yes, that's right: Deanna Monroe herself, Tovah Feldshuh, has an important role to play in Tuner. The 2026 film, led by Leo Woodall, focuses on a piano tuner named Niki who discovers the perfect pitch required to crack highly-secure safes, making him invaluable to a group of criminals. He's a genuinely good guy who finds himself going down a darker path to help the people that he loves.

Feldshuh's character is one of those people. The acting legend plays Marla Horowitz, the wife of Dustin Hoffman's character Harry. The pair have a parents-son relationship with Niki as Harry has been the young man's mentor for years, teaching him a lot of what he knows about pianos. However, when the couple's debts begin to increase, Niki uses his abilities to help them out in any way he can.

The film marks Feldshuh's first movie role in three years and it's a thrilling watch. Check out the trailer below:

Tuner is a gripping movie with Woodall delivering what is perhaps his finest performance thus far. Some of his best scenes are with Feldshuh as they, along with Hoffman, are simply wonderful at bringing the Niki, Marla, and Harry family dynamic to life.

Feldshuh played Deanna Monroe on The Walking Dead from seasons 5 through 6, debuting as the leader of the Alexandria community and very quickly becoming a staunch ally of Rick Grimes. The character was a former politician who, along with her husband Reg, became a voice of reason for the Alexandria community, so it was ultimately down to them whether they would allow Rick and the show's core group of survivors into the safe zone. They ultimately did and Rick reclaimed his original role of a sheriff-like figure for the community.

Throughout her stint on the show, Feldshuh was a series regular, but Deanna's time as Alexandria's leader would be cut short whenever she was bitten by a walker and eventually turned. Rick would ultimately take over as the community's leader after that, with Alexandria itself remaining an important part of the TWD Universe - and, in many ways, it still is to this day.

Feldshuh is an icon of the stage and screen. Her work on Broadway has earned her acclaim over the years, with four Tony Award nominations for her performances in Yentl, Saravá, Lend Me A Tenor, and Golda's Balcony. She also recently played Fanny Brice's mother in the Broadway revival of Funny Girl alongside Lea Michele's leading performance.

To say that Feldshuh has had an illustrious career would be an understatement, and her work on The Walking Dead introduced her to a whole new audience. It's highly likely that her performance in Tuner will do the same.

Tuner is in movie theaters now.
