Walking Dead actor Jay Huguley is heading into the world of conspiracy thrillers. The actor has officially joined the cast of Ally Clark, an upcoming Amazon MGM Studios film led by Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis.

The upcoming thriller is already attracting attention thanks to its star-studded ensemble and suspense-heavy premise. Davis stars in the film as the title character while also producing through JuVee Productions alongside her husband Julius Tennon. The film is also being produced by Irwin Winkler and the Winkler Films team, with a screenplay written by Jose Ruisanchez and Winkler.

Although details about Huguley’s role remain under wraps for now, his addition to the cast only strengthens the project’s already impressive lineup. The actor has become a familiar face to television audiences over the years thanks to appearances across a variety of major series. Horror fans will likely remember him best from The Walking Dead, where he portrayed David, a resident of Alexandria during the show’s sixth season.

While his role in The Walking Dead was relatively brief, Huguley has continued building a strong career through consistent appearances in television dramas and thrillers. In recent years, he has appeared in Lioness, Landman, Outer Banks, Will Trent, True Detective, and Found. His resume reflects an actor who has steadily become a dependable supporting presence in both streaming and network productions.

Huguley has also appeared in several notable films throughout his career. His credits include 12 Years a Slave, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, On Swift Horses, and The Panic. Now, Ally Clark adds another major studio project to his growing body of work.

The film’s ensemble cast is packed with recognizable names as well. Alongside Davis and Huguley, the movie will feature Benjamin Bratt, Benjamin Beatty, Jason Clarke, Jefferson White, Chris Sullivan, Peter Macon, Lily Santiago, Alice Halsey, and Sydney Lemmon. With so many established actors attached, the project is shaping up to be one of Amazon MGM’s more ambitious thrillers currently in production.

The movie reportedly carries a production budget of around $50 million and is currently filming in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Production is expected to continue through June. The story itself will take place across several locations, including Baton Rouge, New York City, and Washington.

For fans of The Walking Dead universe, seeing familiar actors land exciting new projects has become a regular occurrence in recent years. Many performers from the AMC franchise have gone on to join major television and film productions, and Huguley’s latest casting announcement continues that trend.

The combination of Davis, Noyce, and a conspiracy-driven premise already makes Ally Clark sound promising. Add in a supporting cast filled with experienced character actors and television veterans, and the movie could end up becoming one of Amazon MGM’s more talked-about thrillers once it finally arrives.

At the moment, Amazon MGM has not announced an official release date for Ally Clark, but anticipation surrounding the project is already beginning to build. Between the conspiracy storyline, the stacked cast, and Davis leading the film, this is definitely a project thriller fans will want to keep on their radar!
