It's not always easy being a Walking Dead fan. We don't get constant updates on the franchise like we used to. Additionally, we only have two spinoffs actively carrying the universe forward. That said, we have to constantly keep ourselves busy by looking past The Walking Dead franchise and keeping up with the show's cast and their new projects.

Luckily, news is constantly coming out about former cast members signing on to new shows and movies. In fact, we've just learned that a Walking Dead actor from the show's fourth season has just joined the cast of a new horror movie. Perhaps you remember Kyle Gallner? Well, he just signed on to star in the upcoming J.J. Abrams-produced horror flick Skeletons.

Walking Dead fans may or may not remember Gallner in the zombie series. He had a really short role, appearing in just one episode of the fourth season. He played the character of Zach in the season 4 premiere. If you recall, Rick's group was still staying at the prison at the time. Zach ends up joining the crew along with several others and gets along really well with Beth. However, he would meet his demise while on a supply run with Daryl and Michonne.

Obviously, taking on a role in The Walking Dead proves Gallner is in no way new to the horror world. In fact, he's pretty much become some sort of a scream king after appearing in other horror projects such as Scream, Smile, and Smile 2. Now, he's about to star in Skeletons alongside a pretty well-known Marvel star.

According to Deadline, Skeletons is described as a creature horror film. Plot details are scarce, but the movie will center around a young boy who starts to uncover that his parents are concealing something dangerous about his mother’s identity. JT Mollner (Strange Darling) is directing from a screenplay that was written by Brian Duffield (No One Will Save You). In addition, the script is based on a short story by Philip Fracassi. Mollner also helped with revisions to the script.

It's not been revealed who Gallner will play in the film, but it's clear he won't portray the little boy. Perhaps he might play the boy's dad? What we do know is that he'll star alongside Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson. If you're a Marvel fan, you'll instantly recognize her from playing the iconic role of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel in Captain Marvel and The Marvels.

It's also unknown who she will portray in Skeletons, but maybe she'll take on the role of the boy's mother. I don't know about you, but I would love to see Gallner and Larson have this dynamic. It would definitely be interesting to watch!

Sadly, the only other major piece of information about Skeletons is that Sony Pictures is behind it. The entertainment company reportedly picked up the worldwide rights to the film. However, more information will likely come out soon as the movie seems to be really shaping up behind the scenes.

Besides Skeletons, Gallner has a couple of other upcoming projects to look forward to. You can catch him in the upcoming drama thriller Cotton Fever. He can also be seen next in another horror film called Inground. Be sure to keep all three of these movies on your radar!
