The Walking Dead Universe has been going strong for decades since the debut of Robert Kirkman’s iconic first issue hit the shelves of comic book stores back in 2003 and took the world by storm. It is remarkable to consider how vast this series has become and how it continues to expand day by day. One thing that stands out most is how the franchise has expanded with the spinoff series.
As The Walking Dead spinoffs continue to be produced and distributed for fans to enjoy, there is a heavy focus on most of them on how the future looks in the apocalypse. Of course, there have been flashbacks and anthology series, like Tales of the Walking Dead, that have given us insights into the world before. There is yet to be a series that just focuses on the world before. And, hey, wouldn’t that be a good title?
Fans are always quick to share ideas and question stories that they want to see or would even like to read about. I myself have always had ideas about what creative episodes I would love to see hit the screens in our favorite apocalyptic series. I shared five of the ideas that we would love to see in the future of The Walking Dead.

5. From Runs to Ruins: Glenn Rhee’s Story
Fan favorite Glenn Rhee, played by Steven Yeun, sadly met a tragic demise during the season 7 premiere. Fans know he used to deliver pizzas before the apocalypse, which gave him a tremendous advantage navigating the city when everything changed and society broke down.
Thanks to those days as a delivery man, Glenn had a good idea of how to travel the Atlanta streets, leading him to save Rick Grimes, and the rest is history. An anthology series about Glenn, his job, and his customers he delivered to would be an interesting insight and certainly different and fun for the franchise.

4. Blood Brothers: A Daryl and Merle Dixon Story
We have somewhat glimpsed into their tragic childhood during season 3 of Daryl Dixon, which just aired last year. We've also heard the stories from the brothers themselves, but there is still so much to learn.
As one of the longest remaining TWD characters, and seeing as Daryl also didn’t exist in the comics, Daryl offers a huge landscape of his upbringing with Merle that can be tapped into, maybe even with a strong motorcycle focus, where he escapes his daily struggles to just ride, and a deeper look into their difficult relationship with their father.

3. Before The Kingdom: Ezekiel’s Story
All hail the King! I really loved Ezekiel's character the whole way through the mothership show, and his character is one of the most complex in the series. Shiva was one of the best animals of TWD, and their bond was that of true friendship.
For this reason alone, I would love to see a gentle TWD series where the King is seen building his bond with the animals of the zoo and his adventures with Shiva. This series would definitely suit a whimsical tone and focus on him building his skills as a keeper with the animal kingdom around him, before the brick-built kingdom!

2. Side by Side: The Sasha and Tyreese Story
An underrated emotional death from The Walking Dead had to be Tyreese. It was a shock when we had two main character deaths so close together (Beth and Tyreese), and their stories would end. Sadly, only a couple of seasons later, Sasha bravely sacrificed herself to save others.
To see more of their life together as brother and sister would be a real treat. It has been hinted that Tyreese may have been an American football player, while Sasha was an emergency service firefighter. These two sectors would bring a fresh twist and inject more context to their brave and strong character traits.

1. Order From Chaos: Phillip Blake’s Story
One of The Walking Dead's most evil villains had a very bleak origin. From never receiving any mercy from his father to the tragic loss of his wife. Phillip Blake would eventually rise to be one of TV’s more warped characters.
Clearly, there was a road to get there and to see Philip in his everyday life, and then at his happiest with Penny and his wife would be an intriguing perspective of someone who thrives on control and creating illusions.
There will always be questions we ponder and ideas we wish we could see within the world of The Walking Dead. These are just a handful, but they could bring some nostalgia into the TWDU. But for now, fans are super grateful for all of the amazing content through episodes, games, comics, and merchandise that we are blessed to get!
Until then, fans can look forward to Dead City season 3 coming soon. Stay tuned for more news from the world of The Walking Dead.
