Walking Dead actor David Morrissey stars in Gone for ITV

For Walking Dead fans, you know David Morrissey for playing one of the show's most memorable and chilling villains, the Governor. We meet the Governor in the third season of the popular zombie series when Michonne and Andrea end up seeking refuge in his seemingly peaceful town of Woodbury. However, the Governor would meet his demise in the mid-season finale of the fourth season during the prison attack.
Following Morrissey's departure from The Walking Dead, he went on to take on a wide range of compelling roles across film and television. He starred in shows such as The Missing, Britannia, Sherwood, The Long Shadow, Daddy Issues, and Prime Target. One of his most recent projects was starring in the Netflix psychological thriller flick, The Woman in Cabin 10.
Now, he has a new crime drama series with ITV called Gone. Fans will get to see this show air sometime this spring on ITV and STV. It will also be available to stream on ITVX and STV Player. Unfortunately, it will not air or stream anywhere in the United States. At least not for now.
So, what's Gone about? It's a six-part British series created and written by George Kay (Lupin, Hijack) and directed by Richard Laxton (Joan, Rain Dogs). It's also partly inspired by the book To Hunt a Killer, as well as the real-life experiences of former Gloucestershire Police Detective Superintendent Julie Mackay and ITV Crime Correspondent Robert Murphy.
The show centers on Michael Polly, a respected headmaster whose orderly, seemingly perfect life is turned upside down when his wife, Sarah, mysteriously disappears. Polly is well-liked in the community and outwardly composed, but as the investigation unfolds, his calm demeanor raises suspicions.
Morrissey takes on the leading role as Michael Polly. Joining him in the cast is Eve Myles (Coldwater, Hijack) as Detective Annie Cassidy, a smart, determined investigator who quickly zeroes in on Polly as the prime suspect and begins peeling back the layers of his carefully maintained facade.
