The Walking Dead might have ended its run back in 2022, but the show's cast is constantly keeping fans happy with a steady stream of new projects. We're talking new TV shows, movies, and even video games!
In fact, one of the franchise’s most recognizable stars has a new game that has just been released today. Lennie James, who is best known by Walking Dead fans for portraying Morgan Jones in the original series and its spinoff Fear the Walking Dead, has stepped into the world of gaming once again with the brand-new action-adventure game 007 First Light.
On May 27, 2026, IO Interactive's 007 First Light was officially released on several video game platforms. They are the PS5, Windows (Steam & Epic Games Store), and Xbox Series X/S. If you're looking to purchase the standard version of the game on these platforms, you're looking at a price of $69.99 before sales tax.
Additionally, there's a deluxe edition that will cost you $79.99 before sales tax. Without even going into detail, the deluxe edition is obviously the more premium version. But it's up to you on how much extra content you want to pay for.
For true gamers or even just Walking Dead fans, you've probably been keeping up with this game since it was first announced to be in the works. It was originally supposed to come out on March 27, 2026, but was pushed back to May 27 because of additional development time needed to "polish and refine the experience." On May 26, those who had pre-ordered 007 First Light were granted early access.
Now, the game is finally out for the whole world to play and enjoy, and early reviews are already starting to roll in. With a Metacritic and an OpenCritic score of 88%, we'd say 007 First Light is off to a pretty strong start!
So, what is 007 First Light all about? Well, it's a video game based on the hugely popular James Bond franchise. It tells an original story that explores a younger James Bond at the beginning of his career, as he is recruited into MI6 and thrust into a world of espionage.
Here's a brief plot breakdown via the official PlayStation website:
"Follow James Bond as a young, resourceful and sometimes reckless recruit in MI6's training program. After a heroic act, young Naval air crewman Bond is offered the opportunity to join the newly revived Double 0 program. But when a mission to stop a rogue agent ends in tragedy, he must join forces with his reluctant mentor Greenway to expose a deep conspiracy and stop a looming coup at the heart of the State."
Patrick Gibson (Dexter: Original Sin) voices the main character, 007 agent James Bond. He's also joined in the voice cast by other talented actors, such as James, who voices Greenway. Greenway is Bond's MI6 mentor. In addition, Priyanga Burford, Alastair Mackenzie, Kiera Lester, Noémie Nakai, Gemma Chan, and Lenny Kravitz round out the cast.

While PS5, PC, and Xbox players are now able to purchase and play 007 First Light, what about those who prefer other platforms such as the Nintendo Switch? Well, we've got some good news for you! 007 First Light will be released on the Nintendo Switch 2 later in 2026. An official release date hasn't been given just yet, but it should be announced soon!
