While it's still unclear if we'll ever get a The Walking Dead season 12 or some sort of spinoff reuniting all the surviving characters, one thing remains certain. The legacy of this groundbreaking series continues through the incredible talent that brought it to life. And though the walkers may have faded from our screens, the people who faced them continue to blaze new paths.
With every new project that The Walking Dead cast takes on, fans are always eager to follow and excited to see what they're all about. In fact, there's one fan-favorite Walking Dead actor who has a new movie set to come out this year. We recently reported on production wrapping for this upcoming project, and now we’ve got the first look. However, it comes in an unusual way.
The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender gets its first glimpse through official merch

Steven Yeun, who won over audiences as Glenn Rhee in The Walking Dead, is taking on a completely different role in The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender. Directed by Lauren Montgomery, this highly anticipated animated fantasy film is a direct continuation of the beloved Avatar: The Last Airbender TV series that aired on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008.
The original animated series followed Aang, the last surviving Airbender destined to master all four elements and bring peace to a world torn apart by war. This upcoming movie picks up many years after those events and explores what comes next for Aang and his friends as adults. In the film’s story, it's been years since Fire Lord Ozai's demise.
But a new challenge emerges when Aang learns of an ancient power that could either save his culture or, if misused, threaten the fragile harmony the world now enjoys. With his closest allies by his side, Aang embarks on a global quest to find this power before it falls into dangerous hands. Yeun voices the role of Zuko, the former banished prince of the Fire Nation whose journey from enemy to friend made him one of the franchise’s most beloved characters. Dante Basco previously voiced the iconic character in the original series.
While fans are already familiar with Zuko's appearance from the animated show, new images offer a first look at his adult design in the upcoming film. Other characters such as Aang (Eric Nam), Katara (Jessica Matten), Sokka (Román Zaragoza), and Toph (Dionne Quan) are also shown in their grown-up versions. However, these images are not official movie production stills. They come from promotional merchandise being prepared by Target for the new film.
Below, we shared the exciting new photos via the Agents of Fandom X page:

For those who aren't familiar with Zuko's appearance, he's the character in red with the scar on his face. His hair has grown quite long since the original show's series finale. Also included in the photo on the left is what appears to be a new character. Since he has light-blue tattoos similar to Aang's, it appears he might be an Airbender. Some fans are even speculating that he might be the film's villain, voiced by Dave Bautista. But again, that's just speculation.
The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender recently wrapped production and is confirmed to hit Paramount+ sometime in October of this year. As we get closer to its release, an official trailer will drop. We'll definitely make sure to come back and share it. That said, stay tuned to Undead Walking for any new updates on what your favorite Walking Dead cast members are up to next!
