Actor Austin Abrams, known for his roles in Euphoria, Dash & Lily, and Wolfs, portrayed Ron in seasons 5 and 6. He began as a polite young man who befriended newcomer Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs). After his father was killed by Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), he quickly became a different person who was out for revenge for his father's death.
Ron quickly forgets the abuse heaped on himself, his mother, and brother by his father and is defensive towards anyone who makes a disrespectful comment about him. His hatred is directed at Rick and his son, Carl, and he is repulsed that his mother continues to maintain a friendship with Rick.
He is a resourceful young man who seeks Rick's help in gun training, stating that he wants to defend his family. His actual reason is that he plans to kill Carl. When that fails, he appears to give up, siding with Rick's escape plan, when Alexandria is overrun by walkers. But when his mother and brother are killed in the horde, he blames Rick and attempts to shoot him. Michonne (Dania Gurria) intervenes, stabbing Ron, but this causes him to fire the gun, and Carl is shot in the eye. Ron is then devoured by walkers.
Who does Austin Abrams portray in Euphoria?
Abrams joined the cast of HBO's drama Euphoria as Ethan Lewis during season 1. He was promoted to the main cast in season 2 and will return for the third season, which is set to premiere in 2026. The series follows Rue Bennett, a high school girl battling substance abuse, and her journey of addiction and recovery.
Most recently, Abrams appeared in the action comedy, Wolfs with Brad Pitt and George Clooney, now streaming on AppleTV+. Other movies in which he has appeared include The Line, Do Revenge, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, and more.
In 2020, Abrams co-led the Netflix romantic comedy Dash & Lily with Midori Francis. The series is based on the YA novel Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan.
In March 2025, Deadline reported that Abrams was in early talks to star in Zach Cregger's Resident Evil reboot.
