Who did Abbott Elementary actor Tyler James Williams portray in The Walking Dead?
By Renee Hansen
Award-winning actor Tyler James Williams has come a long way since his days as a young actor who voiced Bobby on the animated series Little Bill and the title character in the hit series Everybody Hates Chris. Now Williams is a household name due to his outstanding portrayal of teacher Gregory Eddie on ABC's Abbott Elementary. Before this role, Williams also played a role in AMC's The Walking Dead.
Williams was introduced as Noah, a worker at Grady Memorial, in season 5 of The Walking Dead. He befriended Beth (Emily Kinney), as both of them were required to work for Dawn Lerner (Christine Woods) to work off their debts for care received by the staff there.
The pair set up an escape attempt, which saw Beth recaptured, but Noah was able to escape and eventually find Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride). As the trio plan to rescue Beth, Carol is hit by a car and taken into the care of the medical team at Grady. This would lead to the eventual trade of Beth and Carol for Dawn's workers. Sadly, this resulted in Beth's shocking death.
Beth and Noah had a plan to return to his home in search of his family. Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the group decided to honor Beth's wishes. This results in Noah's devastating news that his family are all dead, and the tragic death of Tyreese (Chad L. Coleman).
Noah would join the Alexandria community with Rick and the others, where he became an important member. He planned on learning architecture from Alexandria's architect, Reg Monroe (Steven Coulter).
During a supply run, Noah would be killed due to the selfish acts of Nicholas (Michael Traynor). Noah and Glenn (Steven Yeun) were trapped in a revolving door with walkers decending. Noah was devoured by walkers as Glenn watched, helpless to save him.
Noah had great potential and was a sad loss to the cast.
