Abraham Ford was a character introduced in season 4 of The Walking Dead who would experience one of the most horrific deaths of the series. Abraham was brave but reckless and always had outstanding one-liners that left viewers quite entertained.

Abraham was portrayed by Michael Cudltz, who is praised for his recent role as Lex Luther in the Superman and Lois series. Abraham was introduced with his apocalyptic traveling companions Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt) and Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos), who was also his girlfriend. The trio encountered Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Tara (Alanna Masterson) after the fall of the prison and joined their search for Maggie (Lauren Cohan).

Cudltiz did a fantastic job of bringing Abraham to life on screen. He appointed himself the protector of Eugene, who claimed to be a scientist who knew the cure for the virus. Abraham made it his mission to deliver Eugene to Washington, D.C. and didn't let anything or anyone get in his way. When Eugene admitted that he lied about the cure, Abraham became unhinged and severely beat him. He would then function as a broken man, believing there was nothing to live for.

When the group arrives at Alexandria Abraham takes a turn, forgives Eugene and becomes a productive member of the community. In season 7, Abraham and Glenn would sufferer the wrath of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) being bludgeoned by his favorite weapon, a barbed wire wrapped bat named Lucille.

Michael Cudlitz - Walking Dead director

After his character's death in season 7, Cudlitz returned to The Walking Dead universe, this time as a director. He made his TWD directorial debut in ep. 907 "Stradivarius." In season 10, he would direct two episodes, “Silence the Whisperers” and “Open Your Eyes,” which are two of the best from that season.

He would then return for the final season of the series to direct ep. 1111, "Rogue Element." This episode primarily took place at the Commonwealth featuring Eugene in a hunt for the missing fake Stephanie (Chelle Ramos) and Connie (Lauren Ridloff) investigating a story about Tropper Davis (Cameron Roberts). Carol (Melissa McBride) accompanied Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) on a trip to a drug farm to settle a labor dispute.

Cudlitz also directed two episodes of the second TWD spinoff, The Walking Dead: World Beyond. He directed the sixth and seventh episodes, “Shadow Puppets,” and “Truth or Dare," two of the best of the series second season.

The actor is well known for his roles in The Kids Are Alright, Southland, Unspoken, Beautiful Disaster, Manifest West, and Red Stone. Besides his role as Abraham in TWD, he is probably best known for his role as Sergent Denver "Bull" Randleman in Band of Brothers.
