Walking Dead Season 5: Early Death Predictions – Part 2

With season 5 of AMC’s The Walking Dead approaching rapidly, I’ve decided to try my hand at predicting the deaths of the characters.  I know I’ll struggle because of how unpredictable The Walking Dead is when it comes to characters living or dying.  However, I’ll give it my best shot.

Here is my obscenely early guesses as to who will make it out of season 5 alive and who will end up a meal for a walker:

Abraham Ford

Abraham Ford

• It would be easy to kill off Abraham.  He could die protecting Rosita (who he has a relationship with in the comics) or Eugene (who he seems obligated to get to Washington).  However, there are still a lot of things to hammer out in those relationships.  Even though there are way too many alpha type males in the group, I see Abraham Ford being a character that should survive many episodes to come.  Chance of death: 15%

Rosita Espinosa

• I’ve got to admit, I enjoy seeing Rosita on my screen.  Other than my maleness coming through, her character is rather disposable.  I could see one of the major females (Rosita, Tara, Maggie, Beth, etc) being killed off this year.  With the scene from the season 5 trailer of Abraham breaking down crying, I’ve got to think that this has something to do with Rosita.  As far as this group goes, I think Rosita is the most likely to meet her end this year.  Chance of Death: 45%

Eugene Porter

• There is a lot left of Eugene’s story to tell.  Does he really know what is going on?  Is he lying to get protection from Abraham and the group?  And will his awkwardness somehow get the group in trouble?  He’s a character that almost has to continue on until they reach whatever Eugene needs to get to Washington D.C. for.  Until then, we’ll get to see the mulleted mensa member stumble his way through the apocalypse.  Chance of Death: 1%

Gareth

• We didn’t meet Gareth until the end of season 4,   He is the leader at Terminus where Rick and the gang are currently being held against their will in a train car.  In the season 5 Comic Con trailer, we got to see Gareth making a deal with Rick to travel with them to Washington D.C. to figure out what the deal is with Eugene.  Because of that, we know Gareth will live past Terminus, but most likely not much longer than that.  He could find himself a casualty near the end of season 5.  Chance of death: 70%
