The Walking Dead is all about its characters, but the actors who play those characters are affected in their real lives by what they experience on the set of the show.

When you’re on the set of The Walking Dead, it really feels like the apocalypse has come and zombies are inheriting the earth. This is something that fans can get away from after each Sunday, but the actors who are on the show have to deal with the apocalypse day after day and it’s something that has an affect on their real lives.

Lauren Cohan is one of those actresses on the show and she’s not afraid to admit the fear she feels on the set of the series is often times real.

In the December issue of Women’s Health, Cohan noted that her work on the set of The Walking Dead has given her fear, which helps balance real life and make it seem way less intense.

"I feel like the show has given me fear! We have dealt with things every single day on this show that make the rest of life seem really, really calm and I think going through a processing that gives me a real appreciation for when things are normal. I’ve always been a fan of old fashioned things and something about the Walking Dead, even as we progress further and further into the show, it becomes a period drama because where it comes to clothes fashion and even weaponry, we have to have a cut off of 3 years ago.  We’re shooting a period drama that’s locked in a very recent but specific time."
