Fear the Walking Dead: Everything we know about season 5
Fear the Walking Dead will return this summer for season 5 and we have everything you need to know about the new season in one spot.
After a quiet winter peppered with sporadic casting announcements, news about the upcoming season 5 of Fear the Walking Dead has been coming in hot. From the premiere date to the trailer revealed at WonderCon 2019, and from the synopsis to casting news, we have all of your Fear the Walking Dead season 5 information right here in one spot.
At the end of Fear the Walking Dead season 4 the group of survivors made a decision to postpone plans to head to Alexandria and instead focus on helping people. Morgan’s plan was simple: Using Polar Bear’s resources, Sara and Wendell’s truck and Al’s tapes, the team would seek out other survivors and help them. That’s where we left off at the end of season 4, and it sets the stage for what’s to come in season 5.
We’ll continue to update this page as new information becomes available.
Premiere Date

Synopsis
Season 5 will see Morgan and the survivors going out on missions to try to help people in need. What they discover, though, is that not everyone wants to be saved:
"In Fear the Walking Dead Season 5, the group’s mission is clear: locate survivors and help make what’s left of the world a slightly better place. With dogged determination, Morgan Jones (James) leads the group with a philosophy rooted in benevolence, community and hope. Each character believes that helping others will allow them to make up for the wrongs of their pasts. But trust won’t be easily earned. Their mission of helping others will be put to the ultimate test when our group finds themselves in uncharted territory, one which will force them to face not just their pasts but also their fears. It is only through facing those fears that the group will discover an entirely new way to live, one that will leave them forever changed."

New Cast Members
Austin Amelio crosses over to Fear the Walking Dead after his character Dwight was banished by Daryl at the end of season 8 of The Walking Dead. As we see in the trailer, Dwight unexpectedly comes upon Morgan but it’s unclear where, when and how that comes about.
Karen David, who brought Princess Jasmine to life on ABC’s Once Upon a Time, joins the cast in season 5 as a character named Grace. Not much is known about Grace and whether or not she falls into the category of someone looking for help or rejecting it.

Current Cast Member Updates
Alexa Nisenson, the brilliantly talented young actress who brings Charlie to life, has been promoted to series regular in season 5. Charlie had a rough time over the course of season 4, playing double agent for the Vultures, losing her Vulture friends, killing Nick and trying to find her place with people who have no reason to trust her. Eventually, though, Charlie managed to have a breakthrough with Alicia in the middle of a hurricane, and now Charlie has a place among the group.
Ruben Blades is back in season 5 after Daniel Salazar disappeared following the dam explosion at the end of season 3. While we don’t know the extent of Blades’ role in season 5, it will be great to have him back.
