As The Walking Dead series enters into the Commonwealth arc of the story, fans have been excited to see who will play some of the members of this community. Some of these characters are iconic to the comics, and fans can’t wait to see how the series will portray them. The Walking Dead panel at Comic-Con@Home announced that Pamela Milton and Lance Hornsby had been cast.

During the 10 years of the series, even though many storylines for characters vary, the iconic looks of many of the characters did translate well to the series. Outstanding examples include Michonne, Ezekiel, Abraham, Negan, even Euguene and his mullet. Princess made waves across the fandom as she was introduced in the series, looking like she walked off the comic page. Fans enjoy this familiarity, especially since some of the character’s costumes are so over the top.

When it was announced that Mercer had been cast, fans lost their minds. Michael James Shaw was already sporting the beard, so fans knew that he would look spot on to his comic counterpart once he donned his red Commonwealth uniform. When the character was finally revealed in full costume, it was an amazing sight to behold.

As more of the Commonwealth characters are cast, fans can’t contain their excitement.

Who will play Pamela Milton in The Walking Dead?

Pamela Milton is the Governor of the Commonwealth and will be played by Laila Robins. In the comics, Pamela is large and in charge of the Commonwealth and believes the class system must be sustained. She is the mother of Sebastian, who kills Rick in the comics but casting for that character has yet to be announced.

Robins is known for her most recent work in Dr. Death, The Blacklist, The Boys and Deception. With a career spanning since the late 80s, she has one impressive list of projects. I remember her character in Planes, Trains and Automobiles from 1987; she played Susan Page, wife of Neal (Steve Martin).

Who will play Lance Hornsby in The Walking Dead?

In the comics, Lance Hornsby is a loyal deputy governor for the Commonwealth who is very prideful and vain. In season 10c, it was thought that the man who interrogated Eugene, Ezekiel, Yumiko and Princess might be this character as that was his job in the comics. At Comic-Con@Home, the official trailer was released showing Josh Hamilton in a post-credit clip (advance to 2:40 to see the clip), promoting the Commonwealth. It was then that he was announced that he would play Hornsby in the series.

Since he was 8 years old, Hamilton has been acting when he starred in A Good Dissonance Like a Man. His more recent credits include American Horror Story, Madam Secretary, Ray Donovan and 13 Reasons Why. One role I fondly remember him in is the 1994 film With Honors. His character was named Jeff, and it is a great movie about a group of Harvard College students who meet a homeless man who will teach them some important life lessons.

Shaw, Robins and Hamilton will be joined by Margot Bingham, who was seen and not heard in season 10 as Stephanie, Eugene’s radio contact.

Additional new casting includes Jacob Young, Glenn Stanton, Marcus Lewis and we will once again see C. Thomas Howell.
