Verizon offering AMC+ free ahead of Walking Dead final season premiere
By Renee Hansen
Verizon has announced that customers who purchase a new phone or sign up for Fios Home Internet will also get a free year of AMC+. This news comes days before The Walking Dead final season premieres on AMC+.
AMC+ is a streaming service that offers perks to its subscribers. AMC’s original content can be viewed with this service, often with many special productions that can only be viewed on the service. Many series, like The Walking Dead, can also be viewed early. This is an ad-free, on-demand streaming service. If you aren’t a Verizon customer, you can get a 7-day free trial via the AMC+ site.
Many Walking Dead fans aren’t happy with the AMC+ early viewing option as people tend to spoil the episodes before others have a chance to view them one week later on AMC. There are many spoiler sites and rude fans who just can’t wait to spoil exciting events that happen during the airing of the episodes. AMC+ makes this a much easier process.
The Walking Dead final season
The Walking Dead consists of 10 seasons with 153 episodes. This series premiered October 31, 2010, and will air its final season in 2022. It has been a wild ride, and the final season will undoubtedly take us on one final emotional roller coaster.
There are many open-ended stories as we enter into the final season. Season 11 will consist of 24 episodes which seems like a good number to tie up these stories and take us through the Commonwealth arc as well as the new threat, the Reapers.
Showrunner Angela Kang has said she knows how the series ends, but the individual episodes still need to be ironed out.
As we come to the beginning of the end, it is a bittersweet time within the fandom. The fandom won’t end with the final episode of The Walking Dead, but it will for sure never be the same.
The Walking Dead season 11 will premiere on AMC on August 22.
AMC+ subscribers can watch this episode one week early on August 15.
