This week’s Walking Dead news (October 21, 2022)
By Renee Hansen
The most recent episode of The Walking Dead, titled “Variant,” aired on Sunday, October 16. The title of this episode gave way to the fact that the variant walkers that have been long teased would appear. Other significant developments also occurred, leading into this week’s episode, “What’s Been Lost.”
Season 11, part 3, has hit the ground running with lots of action. The Commonwealth is in chaos, Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) is in jail, Sebastian Milton (Teo Rapp-Olsson) was attacked and killed by a walker, and Max (Margot Bingham) has betrayed Governor Milton (Laila Robins).
The Governor and the community of the Commonwealth demand justice for Sebastian’s death and want Eugene (Josh McDermitt) to go down for the crime. He confessed to everything to save Max, his girlfriend, from repercussions.
Aaron (Ross Marquand), Jerry (Cooper Andrews), Lydia (Cassady McClincy) and Elijah (Okea Eme-Akwari) head toward Oceanside with supplies. Jerry gets injured, requiring them to stop for the night, and they encounter a horde of walkers led by a variant that can climb, turn door knobs and pick up rocks to use as a weapon. Only time will tell if we will see more of this type of undead in the remaining episodes of this season.
The Walking Dead returns to AMC on Sunday, October 23, at 9 p.m.
