Fear the Walking Dead is the first spin-off of AMC’s The Walking Dead series that recently announced the premiere date for season 8 as May 14, 2023. With this, it was also announced that the eighth season would be the series’s last. Fan favorite Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) returned to the series in the season 7 finale episode and will be a series regular for the last season.

The series has changed quite a bit over the years as the survivors traveled from Los Angeles to Mexico and, most recently, Texas. The new season will also see a change in scenery as filming has moved to Savannah, Georiga.

Victor Strand (Colman Domingo), Alicia Clark (Alycia Debnam-Carey), and Daniel Salazar (Rubén Blades) are the three characters who have endured since season 1. But during the penultimate episode of season 7, Alicia left the group, and the actress left the series.

Where to watch Fear the Walking Dead

Fear the Walking Dead seasons 1-7 are available to stream via Hulu. This will allow fans to rewatch the entire series ahead of the final season.

The first few seasons of the series showed life at the beginning of the outbreak, following the survivors as they learned to adapt to an apocalypse, and viewers had high hopes for this series. In season four, new showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg took over, drastically changing the series. This was also a vital season as Madison was assumed dead, and Morgan Jones (Lennie James) crossed over from The Walking Dead series.

Season 7 saw an enormous change in the atmosphere due to cult leader Teddy Maddox’s (John Glover) detonation of a nuclear bomb. As everyone tried to learn how to survive the fallout of this bomb, Alicia returns from her bunker prison only to declare war on Strand. This season was met with tepid reviews.

The eighth season has changed filming locations from Texas to Georgia, which will see a shift in the area of the series. It will be interesting to see if the series can bounce back after the previous season. Since this will be the series’ final season, some former viewers will likely return to see how things end.

Many fans are interested in seeing their favorite Fear the Walking Dead characters in a spinoff series. Would AMC be so bold as to create spinoffs of a spinoff? Only time will tell.
