Fear the Walking Dead will return to AMC and AMC+ in May 2023. This season will be the last for the series that began airing in 2015 as a spinoff series of The Walking Dead, which concluded its story in November 2022. Fear TWD is set in the same world as the main series but features new characters and was initially set on the west coast of the United States. The trailer for the final season has been released, along with some new images featuring fan-favorite characters.
Season 7 of Fear TWD was met with tepid responses from critics and viewers alike, and that season ended with the survivors fleeing the nuclear wasteland of Texas in search of a safer place to live. Season 7 also saw the return of fan-favorite Madison Clark (Kim Dickens), who was thought to have died in season 4.
It was discovered that Madison worked for the mysterious PADRE organization that had long been thought to be a location set up by the US government with plans for rebuilding after a catastrophe. Madison would meet Morgan Jones (Lennie James), and she would learn that her son Nick (Frank Dillane) had been killed and her daughter Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) had set out on her own, still feeling the effects of a walker bite that required the amputation of her arm.
Madison would explain to Morgan that PADRE is in the business of kidnapping children and raising and training them for some purpose that has yet to be revealed.
