Fear the Walking Dead: Don’t mess with Madison
By Renee Hansen
Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) returned to Fear the Walking Dead in the season 7 finale episode. Dickens announced her character’s return during an episode of Talking Dead, so her return was no surprise, but her current occupation was. Fans were excited to see the first on-screen interaction between Madison and The Walking Dead crossover character Morgan Jones (Lennie James).
Madison was discovered to be employed by the long sought-after PADRE as a “collector” of children. PADRE, which was a huge topic of mystery during season 7, turns out to be something entirely different than initially described. What was once thought to be a secret haven created by the US government with supplies and plans to rebuild after a catastrophe has been discovered to be an organization that abducts children and raises & trains them for some unknown purpose.
This is how Madison and Morgan meet. Madison takes Morgan’s daughter Mo away from him and then has a change of heart. By the end of season 7, the duo are taken away in a PADRE boat, intent on rescuing the child.
Fans of Madison know that she is not someone to mess with. She is fierce and forceful and will do anything to protect the ones she loves. She has been known to have a dark side when needed, and with the right team to back her up could become PADRE’s worst enemy.
Fear the Walking Dead season 8
The eighth season is the final for Fear the Walking Dead and after Morgan and Madison’s rescue attempt goes wrong the story will jump ahead seven years. All of the survivors will be living at PADRE under less than desirable circumstances.
Madison has been through a lot since viewers last saw her and it will be exciting to see the new season 8 Madison. She will likely be reinvigorated by reuniting with old friends and belonging to a tight knit group once again. Will they be able to stand against PADRE?
Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC+ on May 11 and AMC on May14 at 9 p.m. ET.
