Fear the Walking Dead cast prepares for season 8 premiere

The last ever season premiere for Fear the Walking Dead airs on AMC on May 14, 2023. This not long after The Walking Dead concluded its story in November 2022. Fear the Walking Dead is the first spinoff of the main series, which paved the way for many more spinoffs. The eighth season will be the last, and the cast has taken to social media to commemorate the occasion.

The last season will consist of twelve episodes released in two parts, with the second airing sometime before the end of 2023. Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) returned during the season 7 finale and will once again be a series regular to close out his series. The long sought-after PADRE will be a significant focus during the last season, and the timeline will see a seven-year time jump.

Christine Evangelista and Austin Amelio play married couple Sherry and Dwight, characters who crossed over from The Walking Dead. They were former members of Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) Savior community who could no longer stomach being a part of his world. Their love story is full of tragedy, but by season 7, the couple would find out they are expecting a child.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Evangelista shares that “what happens for Sherry and Dwight is gut-wrenching, very painful.”

Fear the Walking Dead season 8

Jenna Elfman plays June Dorie, who was introduced to the series in season 4. Elfman has shared, “I love playing June, and I’ll play June anywhere if that opportunity arises.” She believes there is more June to explore. It will be interesting to see how her story plays out this season, as it has been reported this season’s June will be a darker one.

Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) will see a drastic transformation. Fans are curious to see how Daniel (Ruben Blades) is fairing after his issues with memory loss in the last season.

Season 8 will also see the return of other favorite characters Sarah (Mo Collins), Grace (Karen David), Luciana (Danay), Wendell (Daryl Mitchell), Jacob (Peter Jacobson), and Josiah (Demetrius Grosse). Charlie (Alexa Nisenson) was gravely ill in the season 8 final after experiencing radiation poisoning; only time will tell if fans see her again.

Fear the Walking Dead will air new episodes on AMC on Sundays through June 18. AMC+ will air the new episodes early on Thursdays.
