THE WALKING DEAD NEWS this week: Dead City and Daryl Dixon news

AMC has announced that the premiere of The Walking Dead: Dead City has set records for a drama series premiere. The debut episode generated over 972k views on AMC alone, earning the No. 1 cable drama premiere of 2023 in key demographic audiences. This series has also been the No. 1 season premiere on AMC+ across all new or returning series, including The Walking Dead. 

Dead City will return to AMC on Sunday, June 25, with episode 2, “Who’s There?” at 9 p.m. ET. This episode will pick up immediately following episode 1 and find Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) encountering some NYC natives. Perlie Armstrong (Gauis Charles) will revisit a past trauma while Ginny (Mahina Napoleon) acclimates to change.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon saw the first glimpse in a teaser released during Dead City’s debut. Daryl is featured tied to an upturned lifeboat in the middle of the ocean. It will be exciting to learn exactly how he winds up in this predicament that will find him washed ashore in France. In other Daryl Dixon news, rumors, in the form of images and social media posts, have circulated that Melissa McBride will appear in the series’s second season. It seems that is a fact, but it has yet to be announced by AMC.
