Daryl Dixon is a survivor. This has been proven time and time again during his time on The Walking Dead and continues in the Daryl Dixon spinoff. AMC will release the third season of the spinoff in the fall of 2025, and this time the story will take place in Spain, after a short stop in England, where Daryl and Carol will encounter a man portrayed by Emmy-winning actor Stephen Merchant.
Details regarding Merchant's character have been kept quiet, but executive producer Steve Squillante has noted that Daryl and Carol will encounter him in the season 3 opener, and he is a "very interesting character."
The latest teaser for the series (below), which aired during the fifth episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City's second season, gives a glimpse of Merchant's character. He has been featured in the other teasers, but this time, viewers hear him speak.
Daryl Dixon has been portrayed by Norman Reedus since the first season of the main series. Now, featured in his own spinoff Daryl, along with his best friend Carol (Melissa McBride) will continue on their journey home. The first two seasons were set in France, with the second season ending with the duo traveling the Chunnel, which will take them to England. This is where the third seasons story begins, but the main setting for the upcoming season is Spain.
The recent teaser features Daryl talking about how things aren't so great and then speeds off into a whirlwind of activity featuring many strange new people and things that will be featured in the series' upcoming season. At the end, Merchant's character appears, claiming to "come in peace."
So far, the teasers for Daryl Dixon season 3 appear to feature Daryl and Carol in conversation.
"I was ready to give up, thought it was all over." - Daryl
"You and me both." - Carol
"I was pretty young when all this started. Now all we do is run and fight. Ain't no way to live." - Daryl
"First, you survived what happened. Then you survived the survival. If you're lucky, you can start living again." - Carol
"It's not so great out there in the world." - Daryl
This season Daryl and Carol will embark on yet another journey in their attempt to return home to those they love. Before they traveled alone, but now they are together for what's to come.
