The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 4 was supposed to be released later this year. Unfortunately, the final season of The Walking Dead spinoff was delayed until 2027, but there's really good news right around the corner.
According to AMC, the cast and creative team of Daryl Dixon season 4 will be heading to New York Comic Con 2026 on Friday, Oct. 9, at the Main Stage at the Javits Center.
This is obviously incredibly good news after Daryl Dixon skipped San Diego Comic-Con in July. It was actually during the The Walking Dead: Dead City panel that we learned that Daryl Dixon season 4 was delayed until next year. Norman Reedus revealed the news the same day as the panel.
What to expect at the Daryl Dixon season 4 panel at NYCC 2026
Fans don't know exactly what to expect at the panel. We still don't know who exactly will be attending, but everyone is expecting Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Scott Gimple, who is an executive producer, and David Zabel, the showrunner, to be there.
Even with the mystery surrounding the guests, I would be very surprised if we didn't learn the release date for the final season of Daryl Dixon. We don't know exactly how long we're going to have to wait into 2027 to see the season, but I have a hard time imagining that it will be fall 2027. That's a full year after fans were expecting to see the season, and it'll be almost two full years since the show wrapped filming.
Heading into the fourth and final season of Daryl Dixon, this will likely be the final appearance at NYCC while the show is still on. It might be the final major convention appearance before the premiere. There's a chance that we could see Daryl Dixon season 4 arrive on AMC and AMC+ sometime in the spring of 2027, which would be well before SDCC 2027, which will take place in July.
It'll be interesting to see just how much AMC and the Daryl Dixon team actually reveal, but I do think we'll get a release date, assuming AMC has decided on it.
We should also get our first look at Daryl Dixon season 4. With production wrapping at the end of 2025, there's no doubt that we'll see a teaser for the new season, at the very least. We might even see the first official trailer. There's no reason that AMC would hold that for a later date unless they want to be really cagey about the final season.
Last but not least, fans should also be expecting some big news about the final season and how it sets up the next era of The Walking Dead. Dead City and Daryl Dixon are the only current Walking Dead shows on the books. There's been so much chatter about who might return in the Daryl Dixon season 4 finale. If there are some special guests, we could learn that information during the panel.
AMC has allowed such secrets to be revealed at conventions in the past. Dead City's latest panel revealed Emily Kinney's return as Beth Greene in season 3. That's the most recent example.
