On October 19, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon—The Book of Carol was featured in a panel at the 2024 PaleyFest event. Moderator Josh Wigler talked with the cast and creatives of The Walking Dead spinoff.
Attendees were treated to sneak peek of the fourth episode of the season one day before it aired on AMC and AMC+. This was followed by a break down of the episode and series.

The panel featured Walking Dead's Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple, showrunner David Zabel, actors and executive producers Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride with Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, who also stars in the series.
Highlights of the Daryl Dixon panel
The panel (below) covered a wide range of topics from Reedus and McBride's reunion after surviving eleven seasons of the main series, McBride's process of returning to her character, filming in France instead of Georgia, and much more.
"One of the most satisfying hours of The Walking Dead I've seen in years."
- Scott M. Gimple
- Gimple began stating that he had avoided using running walkers for years, but Zabel finally broke him down, and it was terrific.
- Zabel stated this episode was a crucial turning point in the season and the show, referring to the long-awaited reunion between Carol and Daryl.
- Scigliuzzi, absent from this episode, talked about the good vibes on set and said he is always happy filming this series.
- McBride stated it was great fun reuniting with Reedus after three years.
- Gimple compared Daryl and Carol's recent reunion to the one at Terminus (which I discuss here). He believes it is similar, but the Daryl Dixon series scene is much more emotional.
- McBride talks about Carol being a badass.
- There is also a discussion about the reasons for the recent deaths in this episode.
- Future of The Walking Dead Universe.
- Why filming for Daryl Dixon has moved to Spain.
