Norman Reedus broke the news that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 4 won't be released until 2027, which means that we'll be seeing Reedus in a new movie before the final season of Daryl Dixon hits AMC.
Now, we have the first look at Reedus' next project. On Thursday, Aug. 27, Vertical shared the first official trailer for Pendelum, a new horror movie starring Phoebe Dynevor, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jacki Weaver, and Reedus.
Here's what Pendulum is about, via Vertical:
"Married couple Patrick (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Abigail (Phoebe Dynevor) journey to a new-age retreat in New Mexico, drawn by the possibility of healing after a traumatic event. Patrick is willing to do anything to help his wife, but becomes distrustful of the retreat’s enigmatic leader (Jacki Weaver) even as Abigail falls under her spell. As paranoia builds, the couple must determine if the group’s spiritual practices offer genuine healing — or mask a terrifying truth that threatens to consume them both."
Pendulum premieres in theaters on Jan. 1, 2027! That's not a bad way to start the new year with Reedus.

Unfortunately, we don't have much information about Reedus' role in the film. Of the lead roles, Reedus is the only star without a character attached yet. I have a feeling that's going to change soon once Pendulum starts getting screened at festivals as we get closer to the release date on New Year's Day.
In the trailer, Reedus is only in a few small snippets, but it looks like he's going to play a very big part from what we've seen. This movie looks absolutely freaky to me!
For a while, it looked like Pendulum might actually be Reedus' first project after Daryl Dixon season 4. The final season of the Walking Dead spinoff was supposed to be released later this year. It's now been pushed back to 2027. We don't know the exact reasoning behind the move, but it seems like AMC is trying to space out some of The Walking Dead shows. Dead City season 3 premiered this summer, so it helps to have a bit of time between Dead City and Daryl Dixon with no other Walking Dead shows in the works.
Pendulum premieres before Daryl Dixon season 4
So, we thought we'd be seeing Reedus very soon in Pendulum as his first project after Daryl Dixon ended, but now, Pendulum will actually be the thing holding Reedus fans over until Daryl Dixon season 4 premieres next year.
It's hard to say when Daryl Dixon season 4 will actually premiere on AMC. Production wrapped late last year, so they could roll out the season early in the year. I don't think that will actually be the case. I think summer is much more likely as a release window for the final season.
Thankfully, we'll probably be getting some big Daryl Dixon season 4 news very soon. The cast and creative team of Daryl Dixon are officially confirmed for a New York Comic Con on Friday, Oct. 9. I have a feeling that we will get the release date for the new season at that time.
