Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol new teaser 'Be willing to let go of the things that scare you'
By Renee Hansen
On September 29, AMC and AMC+ will debut the second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Subtitled The Book of Carol, this season will significantly focus on two stories: Carol's search for Daryl and Daryl's fight with the Union of Hope in France as he struggles with his longing to return home.
This season marks the first time a series within The Walking Dead universe has used an alternate title. The addition of The Book of Carol to the title signifies Melissa McBride's return as Carol Peletier. The actress took a short hiatus after the grueling schedule of filming the main series for 12 years. Now, Carol is back and as the teaser states, "I came here to look for Daryl. I have come a very long way."
This season fans hope to see the highly anticipated reunion between Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol. The duo parted ways at the end of the main series during its eleven and finale season. Daryl embarked on a journey to see "what's out there" and look for clues about Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Rick (Andrew Lincoln), while Carol stayed behind to help run things at the newly reorganized Commonwealth. At the end of Daryl Dixon season 1, a teaser revealed that Carol had started searching for Daryl in Maine, his last known location, when he didn't arrive at the Commonwealth within a week, as promised.
Two new images (below) have been revealed showcasing complimentary images, one focused on Daryl, the other on Carol with the caption "Their bond can't be broken." This statement rings true as the duo, despite their differences, have remained the best of friends.
The latest teaser from AMC shows different clips than previous promo videos, featuring Daryl in France as he fights with the Union of Hope and Carol, desperately seeking her long lost friend.
The teaser features some key quotes:
- Isabelle to Daryl: "You think it's over? Bet on hope."
- Daryl: "Let go of the things that scare you. Be willing to throw the first punch."
- "Bon courage, monsieur Dixon." - translation: Good luck, Mr. Dixon.
The first clip in the new teaser brought to mind a similar scene from the main series. The clip from the Daryl Dixon series reveals that Carol is the one in the car surrounded by the undead. This is reminiscent of the time Rick Grimes was trapped inside the tank in Atlanta from the first season of the flagship series.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on September 29 at 9 p.m. ET. Daryl Dixon and Dead City will be featured in a panel at the 2024 New York City Comic Con.
