Fear the Walking Dead and other AMC favorites reportedly heading to Netflix
By Renee Hansen
According to What's on Netflix, AMC Networks has struck a deal with Netflix to add several AMC favorites, including Fear the Walking Dead, to the streamer's catalog.
This deal appears to be similar to the AMC/Max agreement in 2023, which included Interview with the Vampire, Dark Winds, Gangs of London, Killing Eve, Fear the Walking Dead, A Discovery of Witches, and Ride with Norman Reedus. Viewers could stream the above titles from September to November 2023.
A release date has yet to be announced for the new agreement with Netflix, and it's unclear if this is a limited period or an extended one. Anne Rice's Interview With the Vampire, Fear the Walking Dead, Into the Badlands, Monsieur Spade, and Preacher are the titles reported to be included in the deal. These titles will join the current AMC titles available on the streamer: Killing Eve (through October 2025) and The Walking Dead (through 2027). The streamer is also the home of all seasons of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
Fear the Walking Dead - eight seasons
Fear the Walking Dead made Walking Dead universe history by being the first spinoff of the main series. The series premiered in 2015 and paved the way for the long list of spinoffs that are now included within TWDU.
In 2023, Fear TWD aired its final episode, concluding the story, which aired for eight seasons. This show began at the onset of the outbreak, a time period that greatly interests fans of the undead genre. The first three seasons were met with praise, but as with any long-running season, the later seasons saw highs and lows.
The eighth and final season did a great job redeeming the series from its seventh, which was met with a tepid response by many viewers. The final season brilliantly closed the main character's chapters and delighted fans with the reunion between Madison (Kim Dickens) and her daughter Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey).
The main cast for the final season of Fear the Walking Dead included Dickson, Lennie James, Coleman Domingo, Danay Garcia, Austin Amelio, Karen David, Christine Evangelista, Jenna Elfman, Rubén Blades, and Daniel Sharman.
All eight seasons of Fear the Walking Dead can currently be streamed on AMC+.
