The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon series premiered in 2023 to rave reviews. The series, set in France, was vastly different than others within The Walking Dead universe. Starring Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, a character he has portrayed since season 1 of the main series, the story follows Daryl as he is unwillingly shipped off to France. The first season was such a success that the series has been renewed for seasons 2 and 3.
Many fans were initially unsure of how the Daryl Dixon series would work, as it is set in France, making it quite a departure from The Walking Dead's wooded setting and storyline. The show's creators did a fantastic job of creating a storyline that made sense while tying it to the original, and the cinematography and score set this series apart by creating something beautiful in the midst of an apocalypse.

During his journey, Daryl meets many new faces, including Isabelle (Clémence Poésy), a nun and member of the Union of Hope, and Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi), a young boy believed to be the one who will save mankind. He developed a special bond with both characters and helped deliver Laurent to The Nest, the hub for the Union of Hope.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon isn't available to stream on Netflix, but fans can stream it on AMC's streaming subscription service AMC+.
Daryl Dixon season 2
The second season of Daryl Dixon is slated to premiere in the summer of 2024. Subtitled The Book of Carol, this season will feature the return of Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier. She will be searching for Daryl who during a radio call to the Commonwealth, promised Carol he would return in a week. When he never arrived because he was thrown onto a ship bound for France, Carol set out in search of him.
The teaser below shows Daryl still fighting with the Union of Hope against Genet (Anne Charrier), leader of the Power of the Living in France, while Carol searches for Daryl in Maine, his last known location. It will be exciting to see the return of Carol, who always gets things done.
The second season will see the return of sevearal cast members including Laika Blanc Francard, Anne Charrier, Romain Levi, and Eriq Ebouaney and newly announced Manish Dayal joins the cast.
