New promo for TWD Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol season 2

The highly anticipated second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is quickly approaching. AMC and AMC+ will debut this season, subtitled The Book of Carol, on September 29. Things will pick up immediately following the exciting conclusion of the debut season and see Melissa McBride return as Carol Peletier.

The latest promo clip (below) from AMC features Carol and a group of new friends, including Ash, a character portrayed by The Resident actor Manish Dayal. As she narrates the clip, she states that she has come a long way, and Daryl is the only family she has left, which seems strange considering she has everyone else at the Commonwealth and Alexandria.

Carol will meet Ash, a man who, after the outbreak, moved from Boston to Maine to live at his family's vacation home. The full length trailer (below), revealed at the 2024 SDCC panel, shows that Ash is in possession of a plane, which they will attempt to fly to France. This seems like a crazy notion, but so did Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) traveling to France, as seen in the first season.

Viewers will see Carol as she desparatly seeks to find what has happened to her best friend since their brief radio conversation before he was transported to France. He told Carol he would return to the Commonwealth in one week, and when he didn't arrive, Carol began her search. She will encounter many obstacles but, with the help of her new friend, may just find her way to France.

This season will pick up Daryl's story one day after the conclusion of season 1 when he was at a crossroads and needed to decide his next move. It is obvious that he chose to remain in France and continue to aid his newfound friends, a nun named Isabelle (Clémence Poésy) and a young boy named Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi). The trailer shows he is still fighting with the Union of Hope against the Pouvoir, or The Power of the Living, led by Genet (Anne Charrier).

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2

The Daryl Dixon series, which has been renewed for a third season, will see the return of several cast members including Reedus, McBride, Poésy, Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Charrier, Romain Levi and Eriq Ebouaney. David Zabel returns as showrunner, executive producing with Scott M. Gimple, Reedus, McBride, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath, Daniel Percival, Jason Richman and Steve Squillante.
