Stream Shimmer Lake on Netflix starring TWDU actor Wyatt Russell

Wyatt Russell is known in The Walking Dead universe for his portrayal of Paul in the three-part Walking Dead webisode The Oath. This story was directed by Greg Nicotero, and the events take place before season 1 of the main series. Russell recently starred in the Blumhouse horror Night Swim and stars in a 2017 Netflix original, Shimmer Lake.
The 2017 movie is the directorial debut of Oren Uziel, who also wrote the script. He is known for his work on 22 Jump Street and The Cloverfield Paradox. The story of Shimmer Lake is told in reverse time and follows a small-town sheriff investigating a bank robbery in which there are three suspects, one of whom is his brother.
The movie has received mixed reviews as it casts many known comedic actors in a not-so-fun storyline. Many have stated that it was difficult to see these actors in this light and take them seriously. However, the film does a fantastic job of telling the story in reverse, à la Christopher Nolan's Momento. The movie is well worth watching, as it shows these actors in a different setting and the ending reveal. But be sure to pay attention to this one, or you could miss the significance of the ending.

Wyatt Russell - other roles
Wyatt Russell is the son of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn and has numerous credits and nominations to his name. He is well known for his role as Willoughby in the Richard Linklater comedy Everybody Wants Some!! and as Corporal Lewis Ford in the 2018 action horror by Julius Avery, Overlord.
He also portrayed Sean "Dud" Dudley in AMC's Lodge 49, which aired for two seasons. Interesting side note: Walking Dead's Pollyanna McIntosh appeared in one episode of this series. He joined the MCU with his portrayal of John Walker/Captain American/US Agent in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier miniseries. Danny Ramirez, who starred in an episode of Tales of the Walking Dead, portrayed Joaquin Torres in this series.
Recently, Russell appeared in several episodes of the FX series Under the Banner of Heaven, which also stars Andrew Garfield and streams on Hulu. He stars alongside his father in the first season of the AppleTV+ series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, which has been renewed for a second season.
