Fear the Walking Dead actor Garret Dillahunt is fondly remembered for his role as John Dorie. Ethan McDowell portrayed Washington, a member of the Reapers, in the final season of The Walking Dead. Recently, Dillahunt posted on social media about a new movie he will star in with Orlando Bloom and Andie MacDowell. The movie is an action thriller, Red Right Hand, in which McDowell also has a role.

The film is directed by the Nelms Brothers, Ian and Eshom, of Folly Films, known for their movies Fatman, Lost on Purpose, Small Time Crime, and more. The story is written by Jonathan Easley, his first movie script. John Wick veterans Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee produce alongside Jason Tamasco and Zak Kristofek for Traction and Mike Gabrawy from Asbury Park Pictures with executive producers Galen Smith and Marc Danon.

Magnolia Pictures has released the first action-packed trailer for the movie (below), where Bloom plays Cash, a man living a quiet life in the Appalachian Hills with his niece Savannah (Chapel Oaks). Cash and Big Cat (McDowell), the woman who runs the town, has a dark history, and she pulls him back into her service, where he discovers he will do almost anything to protect what remains of his family. Dillahunt portrays an ex-addict turned preacher, Wilder, who advises and protects Cash. Additional cast includes Scott Haze, Mo McRae, Brian Geraghty, Kenneth Miller​, and Nicholas Logan.​​​​​​

Garret Dillahunt recent projects

Dillahunt has been extremely busy recently, starring in some fantastic projects. He stars in the western, The Dead Don't Hurt which Viggo Mortensen wrote, direct and stars. This film will be available sometime in 2024. You can see him on Amazon Prime Video in the outstanding movie A Million Miles Away, starring Michael Peña. He also stars in the sci-fi thriller Gray Matter, which is available to stream on Max, and appears in one episode of Ghosts of Beirut on Showtime and three episodes of Dead to Me, available on Netflix.

It is a hilarious pandemic comedy starring Martha Plimpton, Phillip Garcia, Shakira Barrera, Clare Gilles, James Earl, Kate Walsh, Camden Garcia, Susan Ruttan, Fred Grandy, Myrna Cabello and Zach Strum. The series reunites Dillahunt with creator Greg Garcia, who also created Raising Hope, in which Dillahunt and Plimpton starred.

McDowell recently starred in the movie adaptation of Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret, a movie that was very nostalgic to fans of the book by Judy Blume. He has also had roles in Doom Patrol, Echos, Space Command, Young Rock, and Found. McDowell also starred as Agent Barrie in Ms. Marvel.
