Walking Dead universe actors Jenna Elfman and Alex Meraz cast in AMC's Dark Winds season 3

Deadline reports that Fear the Walking Dead actress Jenna Elfman has been added to AMC's third season of Dark Winds with Bruce Greenwood and fellow Walking Dead universe actor Alex Meraz. The announcement was one of several at the 2024 AMC Upfront presentation.
Dark Winds is a psychological thriller based on Tony Hillerman's Leaphorn & Chee novel series, which Graham Roland created. Roland is known for his work on the Fox series Prison Break, the final season of Lost, and the series Fringe. Dark Winds premiered on AMC and AMC+ in 2022 and was quickly renewed for a second season, followed by a third that began filming in New Mexico. Walking Dead's Noah Emmerich appeared in season 1.
Elfman, who will portray BI Special Agent Sylvia Washington, Greenwood as Tom Spenser, and Border Patrol Agent Ivan Muños, played by Meraz, were among a large group of guests for season 3. Additional guest cast members for season 3 include Max Trujillo, Tonantzin Carmelo, Terry Serpico, Derek Hinkey, Phil Burke, and Christopher Heryerdahl.
The series, set in the 1970s, follows Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon), Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon), and Bernadette Manuelito (Jessica Matten) as Navajo police officers located in the Southwest. Each season adapts a different book from Hillerman's series.
The third season, set to release in 2025, will pick up six months after events in season 2. Leaphorn and Chee will investigate the disapperance of two boys of which their only clues are an abandonded bicycle and a blood-stained patch of ground.
Season 1 and 2 of Dark Winds can be streamed with an AMC+ subscription.
Jenna Elfman in Will Trent season 2 and more
Elfman, well known for her role in Dharma and Greg, stars in the second season of the ABC seriesWill Trent, which has been renewed for a third season. She plays the new director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Edie Reynolds, who is "a formidable, take-charge, no-nonsense, decisive, by-the-book leader without being unfeeling." New episodes premiere weekly on ABC and stream on Hulu.
The award-winning actress saw her film debut in the movie Grosse Point Blank and is well known for her roles in Can't Hardly Wait, Courting Alex, Imaginary Mary, Growing Up Fisher, and more. She has also appeared in episodes of My Dad the Bounty Hunter, The Mindy Project, and Shameless. Elfman was introduced as June in season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead, a role she portrayed until the final season in 2023.

Meraz is well known for his role as the werewolf Paul in the Twilight Saga of films and as Carver, a member of the Reapers, in the final season of The Walking Dead. He has also appeared in The Last Son, Bright, Suicide Squad, Animal Kingdom, CSI: NY, and more.
